In his address, Fr Crasta called upon the hostel students to make the best use of all the opportunities the hostel life provides. “Of course, it is a home away from home. However, it is important that you all take initiatives to learn to be self motivated and independent,” he said.
Rector, Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, thanked all the wardens for their accompaniment and congratulated the students for putting up a meaningful cultural programme.
Students put up a variety entertainment programme. The highlight of the programme was a skit on the importance of education called ‘Marali Baarada Oorige’, directed by Raghu Soori. The skit was written by Mohan Raj, lecturer from St Aloysius PU College. There were dances showcasing the rich culture of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa, besides Garbha, Kathak and Lavani.
Cultural coordinators Rahul Choudhary and Angel Benny coordinated the programme. The hostel council was proactive in making all arrangements for the programme. Vice Chancellor in-charge Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis SJ was present.
