In keeping with the spirit of solidarity, the annual blood donation camp Sanjeevini was held for the eighth time at AIMIT campus of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) on June 14. The event was held in collaboration with district Wenlock Hospital. A total of 127 donors generously donated their blood during the camp.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director of AIMIT, Dr Rajani Suresh, Dean of MBA, Dr Beena Dias, HOD and staff coordinator, and student coordinators Vishal Pinto, Doris Lopes, and Ashneel Rodrigues, staff and students from AIMIT.

Dr Sharath, medical officer from Wenlock Hospital in his message said that blood donation was a noble act. “When you donate blood, you help not just the patients, but yourself. This is because the excess cholesterol and fat in your body can thus be reduced. A healthy person can donate blood three four times a year,” he said.

Director, Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ called upon students to come forward to donate blood as there was a serious dearth of blood in the city.

Saniha Rai compered the programme while Ninoshka Brank delivered the vote of thanks.
