Prof. Kumra highlighted the many institutions under the banner of Manipal group. He informed the gathering of the divisions of the institutions based on the Profit-making courses versus the not-for profit courses and the commercial institutes run by them, highlighting their strengths in terms of infrastructure & resources and the reason for collaborating with institutes from the regional area. While also sharing insights of the organizational structure, the incentive, career prospects and responsibilities of faculties. The faculties, & not the management take charge of the running of the entire campus at TAPMI.
Prof. Gururaj Kidiyoor shared information on what makes brand TAPMI. Prof. Kidiyoor stressed on how TAPMI contributes to Knowledge Creation, Dissemination and Collaboration. Giving insights on the strengths of the various programs offered at TAPMI, the quality of the program, teaching pedagogy, research output, and the processes of evaluating learning effectiveness – he informed the guests that a typical student goes through 300 cases a year, with simulation and gamifications for experiential learning.
The last speaker of the day was Dr. Tathagata Ghosh who shared the access to research facilities at TAPMI, their faculties and research area taken up. He highlighted a novel activity introduced – Management Research Week Series. Dr. Ghosh stated that faculties and researchers from other institutes were invited to present the idea, followed by insights from domain faculties at TAPMI followed by creation of research paper within the next 6 months. He also shared insights on the various journals targeted by the existing faculties and their domains for further discussion.
