Explaining the need for the new facilities, Director Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ said that it was a felt need as when students and parents came to the Institute, they would feel lost. “There was nobody to receive people at the entrance and people used to get confused hunting for offices. Accordingly, we felt we needed to create these facilities here to provide amenities to students and guests,” he said.
The blessing was officiated by Fr Pradeep Sequeira SJ, former finance officer of AIMIT. In his message, he said that it was an important development and felt needed. The reception counter was inaugurated by Ms Leena D’Souza, receptionist and Ms Sowmya M., assistant system admin. The parlour was inaugurated by Mr Lancy Pinto, maintenance officer, and Ms Rekha D’Souza, support staff.
Ms Leena D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Many faculty members and support staff were present.
