Report on Nature Camp to Ankola
The MBA First Semester students of Post Graduation department of MBA of AIMIT, comprising 138 participants, embarked on a transformative journey to Ankola from November 10th to November 13th 2024, accompanied by four faculty members. This nature camp was an immersive experience focused on experiential education, expeditionary learning, and life skill development, fostering self-exploration, character building, and intellectual growth.
The three-day outdoor camping program in the Sahyadri hills was designed to challenge the students physically and mentally through a series of activities and sessions. The camp aimed to prepare students for the demands of corporate life by emphasizing soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, self-reliance, and responsibility. It also integrated elements of adventure and challenges to instil resilience and adaptability among the participants.
Students were engaged in various physical and group activities that promoted experiential learning through action and reflection. Each activity was followed by a structured briefing and debriefing session, which helped students analyze their experiences and draw meaningful lessons.
The key objectives of the program were:
- Character Development: Activities focused on enhancing interpersonal skills, building teamwork, and fostering leadership qualities.
- Self-Exploration: Students had the opportunity to introspect, understand their strengths, and work on areas of improvement.
- Social and Environmental Responsibility: Participants were educated on the importance of preserving nature and were actively involved in maintaining the campsite.
- Meditation in Nature: Students experienced the calming effect of meditation amidst the serene forest, which helped them connect with themselves and their surroundings.
The program concluded with a formal ceremony where students expressed their gratitude through a vote of thanks, and mementos were presented as tokens of appreciation. The nature camp was a holistic experience that not only prepared students for professional challenges but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards society and the environment.
This enriching experience left a lasting impact on the students, equipping them with skills and values that will serve them well in their personal and professional lives.
