MSc Software Technology Students attend Google Developer Groups (GDG) Cloud Community

The MSc Software Technology students of St. Aloysius Deemed to be University attended the first-ever Google Developer Groups (GDG) Cloud Community Day at Avatar Hotel & Convention, Attavar, Mangalore, on September 14, 2024. Niveus Solutions, the industry partner of the Software Technology department, organized this event.

The day included expert-led discussions and hands-on workshops, providing insights into AI, app development, and the growing tech ecosystem in Mangalore. The event began with a fireside chat titled “Destination Mangalore,” featuring industry leaders Suyog Shetty and Rohit Bhat. Shri Sathish VJ, a pioneer in Google Certifications, shared valuable insights about the workings of AI models, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI for building AI-based applications.

Simultaneously, a hands-on workshop on Firebase was conducted, focusing on practical applications and solutions using Flutter Flow. After lunch, interactive sessions on Large Language Models (LLMs) and the AI-first approach for a secure GCP environment were led by Google Developer Experts (GDEs).

The event concluded with a quiz for all participants, along with networking opportunities, allowing attendees to gain valuable knowledge and industry connections. It was a fruitful day of learning for the entire student community in the Department of Software Technology.

The interaction was coordinated by Dr. S. Ruban, Head of the Department and Associate Professor of the PG Department of Software Technology, along with Mr. Adarsh Prabhu from Niveus.
