A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on health care and data analysis with a view of strengthening research was signed between Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCDS), Mangaluru and AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), Beeri on August 10.
Dr Ashitha S.Uppoor, Dean, MCDS and Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto, SJ, Director, AIMIT signed and exchanged the MoU.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr Premalatha K. Associate Dean of MCDS, Dr Junaid Ahmed, Associate Dean, MCDS, Dr. Jefferson, Asst Professor, MCDS, Dr Hemalatha N., Dean, IT (academics), AIMIT and Dr S Ruban, Associate Professor and HOD, Department of Software technology, AIMIT.
The purpose of the MoU is to strengthen quality research work in both the institutions which will also enable training of faculty members and students pertaining to research on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and its analysis in the area of healthcare. Research being an important aspect of health care, the collaboration is expected to strengthen the array of services and quality medical care provided to society at large.
Earlier, Dr S Ruban gave a brief introduction about the scope and opportunities enabled by the MoU that was to be signed.
