Java SpringBoot Workshop

The Department of Software Technology in association with Niveus Solutions conducted a single-day workshop on Java SpringBoot framework on 14th November 2024. The workshop was for the first- and second-year students of MSc. Software Technology. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Divya Sashihital, Enterprise Architect at Niveus Solutions and Mr. Jayanth Suvarna, Senior Solutions Architect at Niveus Solutions.

The workshop started at 12PM. Dr. Ruban S, HOD of Department of Software Technology, welcomed and introduced both facilitators to the students. Ms. Divya and Mr. Jayanth provided insights to the students regarding the basic concepts like architectures, APIs, etc. and also gave an in-depth introduction about the Java SpringBoot framework, its components and applications. Various use-cases regarding the same were also discussed.

The workshop also had a hands-on session where the students worked on a SpringBoot application as per the instructions relayed by the facilitators. Both facilitators were keen to help the students with their queries and in guiding them in working with tools like IntelliJ IDEA Community and Postman.

This interactive workshop was very informative and helpful as it introduced the students to Java SpringBoot, which is one of the most sought technologies in the development domain. The session concluded at 5pm. Dr. Ruben and the class representatives of Software Technologies presented Ms. Divya and Mr. Jayanth with goodies as a token of appreciation.

The workshop was coordinated by Mrs.Suchetha vijay, Associate Professor from the PG department of Software Technology.
