The Mentoring system in the IT department has been followed in a traditional approach where one faculty mentor is associated with many student mentees from I year and II year simultaneously. Each faculty member is associated with mentees personally and academically. The aim here is to help the students grow in personality and help the mentees to come out with some research work which can be presented as research papers.
A meeting of all mentors with first year mentees as part of the mentoring system was conducted on November 18. Students participated in various activities to improve their personality skills.
In this scenario, on December 11, 2023 one such activity was conducted where II year students presented the research work they were assigned by the faculty mentors. This is the preliminary work for the upcoming international conference SACAIM 2023 which will be held in January 2024 where the students have to present research papers to a panel of members. This enables the cultivation of research culture among the student community.
Regular meetings and mentoring sessions are scheduled fortnightly to provide mental support and motivation for their research. In addition, feedback is gathered from both mentors and mentees to ensure improvement in the mentoring system.
