In his address, Dr Pavan said that bioinformatics plays a very important role in many fields, because data related to organisms is very difficult to store and manage. “Bioinformatics is very useful because these bioinformatics tools help to find the role of proteins and other molecules which in turn is helpful in drug development and drug prediction,” he said. He also emphasised the importance of bioinformatics in various fields of research.
Dr Hemalatha, Dean IT, Dr Anushree Raj, coordinator of Bioinformatics department, Avil Alva, president, and Samiha Sheik, vice president, were present.
