The programme began on a solemn note with Mrs Divya Periera leading the gathering in prayer followed by the formal inauguration marked by the lighting of the Lamp by Rev Dr Fr Kiran Cotha SJ, Director, AIMIT.
The Director, Dr Fr Kiarn Cotha S J welcomed the new research scholars and cautioned them to take their role as researchers very seriously. He added that research was a long journey of learning, endurance and self-discovery and advised all the scholars present to be prepared to in long grueling hours of hard work. He also highlighted that good research is very rewarding indeed!
Dr Rajani Suresh maintained that research is central to the vision of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). She added that the School of Business and Management at SADU aspires to be one of the leading business schools in management research in India. The school would like to be distinguished through creation of an enabling ecosystem for research work, training as well as facilitating outstanding researchers, and designing interventions yielding business, social, cultural and economic benefits to community. For doctoral scholars too, the school provides and promises an excellent environment. The mandate of PhD program is to promote academic research and research related activities, and build a strong culture of research at SADU, comparable to that of best management institutes in India.
The HOD Dr Beena Dias proposed the vote of thanks and Mr Ravi Kudtarkar compered the programme.
