Dr Pradyot Ranjan Jena (IIT Kanpur), Associate Professor, School of Management NITK, Mangalore, was the resource person for the day.
He began his talk by explaining how to systematically approach a scientific writing. He spoke about the steps in writing a great paper and getting it published. “If we spent one hour of our day on a daily basis to work on our publications, it would help us to publish our research on time and it does not go wasted,” he said.
The afternoon session was focused on research funding. Dr Jena spoke about the types of funding agencies, and what type of topics to choose as well as the types of collaborations for research funding.
He concluded the session by conducting a group discussion for the members where they got an opportunity to discuss about the possible problems one face in research writing and publishing.
