Dr Ruban delivers a Guest Lecture at IIPMB, Bengaluru

Dr S. Ruban, Associate professor from the School of Information Science and Technology, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), gave a Guest Lecture as part of the Leadership series at the Indian Institute of Plantation and Management, Bengaluru on March 11,2025. The session was attended by Students who are pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Management: Agribusiness and Plantation Management (PGDM-ABPM)

In his address on the topic ‘Unboxing AI: A Farming perspective’ on March 11th, 2025, Dr Ruban discussed the various AI initiatives taken in the Farming and the plantation sector by the Government and Non-Government organizations in India. He also gave numerous case studies and live demonstrations of various AI tools available in Farming. He also elaborated various real time projects developed by him and his student mentees in collaboration with various healthcare institutions and how similar AI tools can be developed in plantation sector as well. The session was followed by a question-and-answer session.

This session was chaired by Dr. S John Mano Raj Director(i/c), IIPMB, Bengaluru. Followed by the session, both the institutes would look for venues to write Grant proposals together and work on AI based projects.
