Dr Rakesh Kumar takes charge as new HOD of BDA

Dr Rakesh Kumar took charge as the new HOD of MSc Big Data Analytics department on September 14 in the presence of Dean (Academics) Dr Hemalatha N. and other staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hemalatha said that the outgoing HOD Mrs Laveena Crasta diligently handled her task. “She was systematic and prompt in completing all her tasks,” she said.

Dr Hemalatha also said that Dr Rakesh Kumar, a senior and experienced faculty, is the right choice as the new HOD of MSc BDA department.

Outgoing HOD Mrs. Laveena Crasta and the new HOD Dr Rakesh Kumar briefly expressed their feelings and gratitude.

Former Dean Mr Santhosh Rebello spoke about how the BDA course got approval from Mangalore University in 2017. “Later we were able to have a tie up with TCS and Mrs Laveena played her role as a SPOC very efficiently,” he said. He also noted that Dr. Rakesh Kumar had both IT and Management skills.
