Bioinformatics students attend 4-day workshop in biotechnology

The students of Bioinformatics department of AIMIT attended a four-day workshop on ‘Enhancing skills in Biotechnology’, organised by the department of PG studies &research in Biotechnology, SAC from July 19–22. Dr Santhosh Wilson Goveas, assistant professor, and Dr Jiji George, assistant professors, department of UG Biotechnology were the resource persons for the workshop.

The practical sessions included DNA extraction of any plant tissue, reagent preparation for electrophoreses and SDS and also preparing the master mix, loading and amplification process through PCR.

The workshop gave an extensive practical knowledge on wet lab experiments and how they could explore these studies in their future work.
