AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) celebrated Ayudha Puja on October 1. The service began with the lighting of the lamp and a short prayer service.
Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ blessed all the machinery and instruments as well as college vehicles, generators, gymnasia, pump house, and transformers, with holy water. “On the occasion of Ayudha Puja, we must all remember that we should not use our equipments to harm others or bring about destruction, but rather we should only use them for good purposes,” he said. As a symbol of good omen, coconut was broken.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, the maintenance officer, Lancy Pinto said, “Ayudha Puja is being observed at AIMIT every year, and we must thank God for giving us a day to recognise the worth of our machinery and instruments. Let us pray to God to bless all our equipments.
All the administrative and support supporting staff gathered in the celebration.
